Minutes of the Beaumont Radio Control Club Meeting : January 21, 2008



The meeting was called to order @ 7:28 p.m. with a total of twenty-one members present.

A hello to new members present @ the meeting

There were no Minutes read from the previous meeting.

Treasury Report by Greg Barnhart:
Balance as of last meeting was $13,266.10
Wrote checks for $106.97
Deposited $282.70
The end of the year balance is $13,441.83
A motion to accept the Treasury Report was made by Bennie Youngblood, seconded by Pat Carre.


Old Business:
The Grass cutting was talked about; Greg Nowell says he has three people committed to cutting grass on the committee, the club will give another month for more volunteer’s, if there are not enough volunteer’s then the club will need to pay someone to cut the grass.

The club has one Safety Officer, Chuck Nowell, which is all that is required by the AMA, however the club could use another Safety Officer as well.

The club is planning our Ladies night out, possibly Feb. 16th. Rick Hollenbeck will schedule it.

The extension of the Pitt area was discussed. Although voted on and passed to extend the Pitt area by three bays toward the south, we are waiting on the weather to be better so we can plan a work day.

New Business:
The Raffle at the meeting’s was discussed, and it was decided to continue having raffle’s at the club meeting’s starting with the February meeting.

Where to have all of the club meeting’s was discussed, with the options to have some of the meeting’s at the Airport, some at the field, and some possibly at a restaurant.

The Pitt area’s were again discussed including the need for some type of rock around the tables where it is so muddy, as well as some rock out at the main gate and driveway also. Rick will get in touch with the county to see if they can help us out also.

A sign by the main gate and the fence of our property to warn people about the existence of low flying aircraft in the area was also discussed. Josh Ladd will check into the prices and will discuss further at the next meeting.

A motion to adjourn was made by Rick Hollenbeck, seconded by Bennie Youngblood, the Meeting was adjourned at 7:51 p.m.
